David Bishop

As a Partner at Brick Meets Click, David manages our research and retailer benchmarking programs. The longest-running program started in 2010, and involves close collaboration with grocery retailers across the U.S. to survey shoppers about how they use various digital tools and communications to help them shop for products both online and in-store.

The program was expanded in 2016 to capture key performance indicators related to actual online grocery purchase behavior, including both sales and identification of lost sales opportunities.

David has a deep knowledge of the convenience and grocery classes of trade across both the digital and physical sales channels. In addition to his role at Brick Meets Click, he is the managing partner of Balvor LLC, a firm that specializes in convenience retail and provides category management, trade marketing, and analytic services to companies. Within convenience he works with retailers to evaluate new retail concepts, conduct competitive assessments, and develop more effective and integrated marketing practices.

Earlier in his career, David was a partner at Willard Bishop LLC where he led the small-format practice for over 10 years.  Before that, he managed beverage categories and financial modeling for new concepts at The Levy Restaurants.

He has a BA in Organizational Communications and Marketing from the University of Iowa.
