Brian joined Retail Feedback Group (RFG) as a Principal in 2012. Prior to joining RFG, Brian spent 18 years at Nash Finch Company, a Fortune 500 food wholesaler and retailer, where he was Sr. Director of Research and Public Relations, as well as Chair of the NFC Foundation.  At Nash Finch, Brian developed and managed a comprehensive consumer research program, pioneered the initial implementation of geographic information systems, and launched an automated feedback program in all corporate-owned retail stores and many independent locations. Brian's research expertise includes consumer/customer research, satisfaction studies, market/GIS analysis, and employee surveys, primarily in the retail, wholesale and nonprofit sectors. At RFG, Brian works with clients across the United States, assessing their research/feedback needs, designing and implementing research studies,  and interpreting the results to help strengthen their businesses. 

Brian has served in multiple thought leadership roles in the food industry, including many years as Chair of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Consumer Market Research Committee and as a member of the Program Leadership Board at the University of Minnesota Food Industry Center. He has presented or served as a panelist at FMI and National Grocers Association conventions, as well as numerous other conferences and events. He is a frequent commentator in food industry publications. 

A recipient of the 40 Under Forty Award from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, Brian has also been honored with the Alumni of Notable Achievement Award from the University of Minnesota and the WCCO-AM Good Neighbor Award.  Brian earned his M.A. in Communication Studies and his B.A. summa cum laude in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota. He also holds Professional Researcher Certification (PRC) from the Marketing Research Association. Brian is also the co-author of Feedback Rules!, a book created to help everyone listen better to their stakeholders.
